Shane, a master teacher and coach, inspires and motivates student/athletes. His education degree with majors in art and PE, is enhanced with a masters degree in leadership and counselling. His teaching experience expands most subject areas with his main focus on Gifted and Talented, art and P.E. He has been teaching for 20 years, which includes two years in Australia.

Shane has been coaching freestyle skiing for the last 5 years and has vast experience in a number of different sports. He has a strong understanding of mental and athletic training both as a coach and an athlete.

Drawing on his skills as a teacher and coach, Shane coordinates the education and the skiing daily.


Podium of Life works with Whistler Blackcomb Freestyle Ski Club as well as Whistler Mountain Ski Club to provide excellent coaching for the program. Students learn from a variety of coaches in the gates, the park and all over the mountain. The clubs provide high performance coaching in racing, moguls, park and pipe, as well as big mountain skiing.

Courage to Win Mental Toughness coach and consultant

A native of Campbell River, BC, Shawnee was appointed the assistant coach of Canada’s nation basketball team in 2013. She was the Head Coach of the University of Calgary basketball program for 16 years. In 2000 she completed her Masters Degree in Coaching Studies from the University of Victoria and in January 2003 she attained her National Coaching Certification Program Level Five. Harle is the only basketball coach in Canada, male or female, to attain her Level Five certification.

Harle has a wealth of international experience. She served as an Assistant Coach for the Canadian National Women’s Team that competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, the 1994 Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia and the World Championships in Sydney, Australia. Shawnee has also served as an international scout for Canada Basketball, travelling to Peru and the Dominican Republic to scout South American teams for the World Qualification Tournament.

Coach Harle was the Canada West Coach of the Year in 1996, 2000, 2008, and her teams have never had a losing season. With her extensive experience of developing competent leaders, Shawnee works as a personal development expert as well as a mental toughness coach with the Courage to Win.  She specializes in helping others develop mental toughness skills that will allow them to set and reach their goals.
